Welcome to COLLECT: a memory capture project for the Memorial Hall in Northwich, Cheshire. Our intention is to create a lasting legacy of the Memorial Hall ahead of its closure next year. A number of key partners have offered their support on this initiative. They are the Regeneration team at Weaver Valley Partnership, Cheshire Dance, Weaver Hall Museum, Chester Records Office, DAN Community Arts Ltd, Brio-Leisure and Mid Cheshire College.

Memorial Court Hoardings Project

As part of the Collect: Memorial Capture Project, poet Dominic Berry is working with children from Witton Church Walk Primary School, University of Chester Academy Northwich (UCAN) and the Age UK OPEL group to write poems based on the past and future of the Memorial Hall. Some of the poems will be used to decorate the hoardings around the new Memorial Court whilst under construction.

In the future we will dive and swim in wonderful, warm waters.
Come with your friends and join in with the fun, splash and play all day long.
Get wet - no one will care,
Get chlorine all in your hair!
And when our fun has come to an end...
We know we'll be back again!

Your Memories of Northwich Memorial Hall
Memorial Hall Coffee Shop

Firstly can I just say that I think this site is absolutely amazing and I congratulate you all on the fantastic wealth of film and photography you have managed to reproduce here.

When I was a teenager in the early 60s I had a part time job in the coffee shop which was open during the Saturday hops with people like The Beatles and Acker Bilk appearing. I made all the above coffee and burgers but was not allowed to take it to them backstage. I was thrilled to see the coffee shop pictured on one of your archive photos of the hall. My manager at the time was a tall blonde chap and he owned the coffee shop part, does anyone remember his name.....
